So I am a HUGE animal lover. And this thread is for exactly that!
What pets have you got? What would you love to have? What pets have you had and what do you enjoy about being an owner?
Share pictures, videos etc!
I do have an Animal Care degree and I am currently studying veterinary nursing too so any questions you may have about care or any concerns you may have, feel free to seek advice here. Obviously providing your animal isn't in immediate danger, in which case a vet is required ASAP.
Please post appropriate pictures and videos only! We cater to many ages remember

So I would like to introduce you to my babies! Top left is Zulu. He is a Savannah Monitor and is currently around 5-6 months old. He is around 12-15 inches in length and still quite skittish. He's being hand tamed slowly but doing it on his terms Top Right is Pickle. She is my oldest Bearded Dragon and is approx 5 years old. Pickle is a character. She never fails to make me laugh. She recently started laying eggs and had 3 clutches quite close together. I didn't love her so much then! Lol! She was very restless for 4 months! Finally we have Sqwirler. Sqwirler is also a bearded dragon. She is approx 12-18 months old but is a total guess. She was rescued in September last year. She was mistreated and very underweight. She was 10 inches, 33grams and had MBD (metabolic bone disease). She should have weighed a minimum of 70grams at that length, so was in a very bad way. She will always have MBD but with the right setup and supplements, it won't get worse. She is now 16 inches and is a nice chunky 306grams and is livelier than ever

Im not really an animal lover. Thats not to say I dont like them or respect them, but on the whole Im not interested enough to want to look after them. I have zero interest in cats, dogs, birds, reptiles... although I do own 2 budgies whom are beautiful and funny but I have no interest in handling them, taming them, training them etc etc.
Yes I am a horrible person!
However there is an exception... I love rodents...mice, rats, hamsters, and my big loves are gerbils. I have raised 3 families over the years 2 families at the same time, 5 boys and 3 girls in all. All critters except 2 (both had climbing/falling accidents) lived to the grand old age of 3 and a half or 4 years which for a gerbil is ancient!
I have nursed 1 gerbil through a stroke until it passed, one through wet tail bless her she looked such a state I was desperate for her to actually die which sounds awful but she was really suffering, and all 3 of my girls and 1 boy family through scraps and fights which meant they all had to be separated and treated by a vet and I had to buy extra cages and eventually pass 1 of my girls on. Never have more then 2 gerbils in a cage.. territorial disputes are expensive!
I loooove degus! one day!

Except Spiders and wasps, I think everything else is pretty cool. I currently have the 3 lizards but have had dogs (7 whippets and lurchers), cats, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs and hamsters.
I would love some exotic furries too. Fennec Fox, Marmosets, Lemurs etc but these are just my crazy dreams! (Of which I have a lot!)
I have had a keen interest for a lot of years. I would have loved to have been a vet but not sure I could handle the emotional stress, so studying vet nursing instead. It's still challenging but not as much so.
Degu's are awesome! I'd also love to have some one day. I think I am going to need a zoo though lol!

I am very much a lover of rats, not I'm not just talking the caged boring depressed type, I'm talking the trained smart loving type. So many people believe so many myths about rats that give them a bad name (normally spread by pest controllers), but I can assure you rats are cleaner then people, smarter than cats, and easier to train than dogs, and love nothing more than to have a cuddle.

I am petless at the moment and likely to stay that way as between my job and the fact that when they die I cry for days I cant cope anymore, in my life I have had, 2 tortoises, 3 budgies, 2 cats (one was technically my daughters but I did the looking after), countless hamsters and a gerbil, 3 mice, and 9 rabbits (7 at same time!). I have adopted pets that were unable to stay where they were (hence the rabbit explosion) and loved it at the time
